The article intends to analyze the connection between the tenentistas ideas of the 1920s with the adhesion of the 13th Cavalry Battalion of Joinville to the October 1930 movement that deposed Washington Luís and took over Vargas. In this context we will have a contextualization of tenentism from the awakening of the republic to the 1930 movement that supposedly installed a new phase in the political history of Brazil. Their interpretations will also be briefly discussed. Subsequently will be outlined the methodology and analysis of the tenentism traces in the thought of the 13th B.C evaluating the sources of both newspapers and official sources of the corporation. And finally a balance of the battalion's participation in the movement and its motivations.
