VIOLÊNCIA FAMILIAR: A REALIDADE DOS MORADORES DE UM BAIRRO DE MARINGÁ

It's about an exploratory descriptive research that used the interview as a data collection method in suburb in Maringa-Pr, in January 2000, and its aim was to verify the intra familiar violence presence in de family and to identify its main causes, though its victims. As a result we have had that 62% of the population were economically active, 74% of the interviewed people were women, 16% were illiterate, 55% had experienced the violence in family and its greatest victims, the two intra familiar violence that were more salient is the verbal and physical ones. The aggressors were most men, father 33% and husband 25%, and the victims were women and children. The main violence causes were drinks 20% e and disagreement 15%; the action to this aggression was not reacting 27% or facing it 32%; 62% looked for help after being aggressed and from these 47% looked for the police. After this study it was concluded that it's very important particularize to show the violence in our city, sensitizing the professionals about the real situation. KEY-WORDS: Domestic violence; Family; Community RESUMEN: Este es un estudio exploratorio descriptivo. Utilizo la entrevista como metodo para coger los datos. Realizada en la Periferia de la ciudad de Maringa-PR, en enero de 2000, y su objetivo es identificar la presencia de violencia intra familiar e saber sus principales causas y sus mayores victimas. Hemos tenido que 62% de los entrevistados eram economicamente activos, 74% de las personas entrevistada corresponde mujeres, 16% analfabetos, y 55% han experimentado la violencia dentro de las familias. Los tipos de violencia intra familiar que es mas destacada es la verbal y fisica, y sus agresores eran la mayoria hombres, padres 33% y marido 25%, las victimas son mujeres y ninos. Las principales causas de la violencia eran bebidas 20%, peleas 15%; y la actitud frente a la agresion era no reaccionar 27% o efrentar 32%; 62% buscaron ayuda despues de la agresion y de estos 47% buscaron la policia. Despues que este estudio fue concluido es muy importante demostrar y reconocar el tipo de violencia en la comuna, para poder sensibilizar los profesionales y la comunidad sobre esta realidad.
