The research, of qualitative approach by means of oral history, aimed to know the trajectory of life of a patient with multiple sclerosis and the intervention in occupational therapy. The study reports the clinical evolution between 2003 and 2007 and the interviews’ categories of analysis conducted in 2004. The categories were: personal characteristics and social relations; the disease and its meanings; therapeutic monitoring; the intervention of the occupational therapy; the frustration caused by the treatment and progress of the disease; and support of the family. It is concluded that the individualization of the treatment, joining available resources with multidisciplinary and family support contributes to the union of scientific knowledge with technical assistance for the development of subjectivity, through support and presence, guidance and discussion, safety and comfort.
