Aster lanceolatus is a cut plant known as margarida-de-sao-miguel, aster arbustiva and monte cassino. Through gaseous chromatography of the samples of hexane fractions from Aster lanceolatus, the β-sitosterol presence has been verified in the respective fractions. This substance still had not been told in the species in study. The allelophatic rehearsal accomplished with crude extract and fractions of the flowers from Aster lanceolatus evidenced the hexane fraction, and the rehearsal accomplished with crude extract and fractions of the stems and leaves of Aster lanceolatus, the fraction ethil acetate
