RESUMO: O genero Dalbergia pertence a familia Fabaceae (Leguminosae) e caracterizam-se como arvores, arbustos e trepadeiras lenhosas amplamente distribuidas em regioes tropicais e subtropicais. No Brasil encontram-se em biomas ameacados de extincao, mata atlântica e cerrado. Varias especies sao tradicionalmente utilizadas como analgesico, anti-inflamatorio, antimicrobiano, anti-diarreico, anti-ulcerogenico, repelente, larvicida e inseticida de mosquitos. Esta revisao e uma compilacao das atividades biologicas das varias especies do genero Dalbergia. Palavra chave: Dalbergia, atividades biologicas, fitoconstituintes ABSTRAT: The genus Dalbergia belongs to the Fabaceae family (Leguminosae) and is characterized as trees, shrubs and vines widely distributed in tropical and sub -tropical. In Brazil are found in threatened biomes of extinction, Atlantic rainforest and cerrado. Several species are traditionally used as analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, anti-diarrheal, anti-ulcerogenic, repellent, insecticide and larvicide mosquitoes. The chemical investigation of many species of this genus resulted in the isolation and characterization of various phytochemicals. This review is the compilation of the chemical composition and biological activities of the various species of the genus
