PROFILE OF DIABETIC PATIENTS HOSPITALIZED IN A PUBLIC HOSPITAL OF CURITIBA - PR

Characterize the prole of diabetic patients hospitalized in a public hospital of Curitiba PR, analyzing variables such as sex, age, classication of type of diabetes, presence of other diseases, nutritional status based on BMI, treatment used and knowledge about functional foods. This is a cross-sectional study with 34 diabetic patients with age over 18 years hospitalized in the Hospital de Clinicas / UFPR. For data collection was used a questionnaire composed of questions that aimed to identify the patient, treatment used and the knowledge about functional foods. The collected data were tabulated on the program Ofce Libre ® 3.5. The results were analyzed using descriptive statistics. It was observed that 19 patients (55.88%) were female and 15 patients (44.12%) were male. The prevalence of patients with type 2 diabetes was higher, representing 30 diabetic
