Following on the study of the differences and similitudes between Cultural Astronomy and Archaeoastronomy, we present in this article the evaluation that was done of the different methodologies used in archaeoastronomical or archaeological studies, but both related to astronomy reflected by remains of ancient cultures. In this case, the scope is only on studies of the maya culture, and the purpose was to identify the methodologies used for completing those works, so that they can serve as the base for developing new methodological technics and tools that are useful for pursuing the Astronomical Culture discipline in Honduras. Results are shown as both tables and graphics and prove to be useful for the above mentioned purpose. As additional results, Venus and the Sun are identified as the astronomical bodies of greater importance in the maya culture. Revista Ciencias Espaciales, Vol.5(1) 2012, 86-97
