The approach emphasizes how Jorge Amado transformed facts reported by local newspapers and registered by historians, analyzing the dialogue between Literature and History. Based on the identification of occurrences documented by press and researchers which are mentioned by the book, it aims to examine the relations of events and figures of the socioeconomic reality of the city and the region with episodes and characters created by its author.
