PROPOSTA PARA UM PLANO DE GERENCIAMENTO DOS RESÍDUOS DE SERVIÇOS DE SAÚDE NOS ESTABELECIMENTOS ASSISTENCIAIS DE SAÚDE DE GUAPORÉ/RS

Managing waste means not only controlling and reducing risks, but, mainly, reaching minimization of th e produced waste. This article aims to present a prop osal for developing a management plan for handling solid medical waste (MWMP) in health care facilities in t he town of Guapore/RS. The method used was the qualitative research of exploratory character throu gh the collection of data during interviews, use of questionnaires, in loco observation and the waste management plan analysis. Obtained results indicate that the studied require immediate implantation of a medical waste management plan, in addition to a continuing education program in service are needed.
