Background: International literature confirms the benefits as well as the complexities of delivering health and social services across health care continuums and the need to think much broader to include other sectors as well as a whole of government and a whole of systems approach in the implementation process for integrated care. Whilst there is a substantial literature promoting the benefits of integrated health care and integrated care models there is little detail of how integrated care practices are incorporated into the training of new and emerging health care professionals. To identify existing programs as well as the barriers, challenges and best practices of integrating care into the training of the future workforce this workshop will bring together representatives from universities and education providers from around the world who are implementing models of integrated care for new health care professionals in training. Barriers such as changing existing rigid health care curriculums, changing workforce cultures and designing programs with input from patients and communities will be explored. Aims and Objectives:  1- To identify existing programs and units of study designed to embed integrated care principles and practices for health care professionals in training. 2- To determine a set of minimal criteria and principles for incorporating integrated care into these settings. 3- To explore how patients, families, carers and communities can be involved in the design of these programs. 4- To explore the challenges to implementing integrated care practices in these settings and develop strategies to overcome these challenges. 5- To identify a core leadership group to lead and develop an international approach to incorporating integrated care into the training of new health care professionals.  Format: This 90-minute workshop will feature a blend of presentations, facilitated group and pair discussions, and the development of a list of action items including the establishment of a group of leaders interested in progressing this topic further. Learnings/Take away: To begin to develop an inventory of existing worldwide programs and units of study targeting new health professionals and embedding integrated care, identify key principles as well as strategies to involve people and communities.   Identify challenges and a list of key leaders who are interested in progressing this topic further.
