CONSULTA DE ENFERMAGEM COMO OPORTUNIDADE DE CONSCIENTIZAÇÃO EM DIABETES

SUMARY: The mellitus diabetes assumes great importance in the context of the public health problems. The bad control of the disease causes a series of severe and chronic complications that may be avoided by means of accompaniment of the team of health and of the activates participation it it of the patient in his daly treatment. Educational activities must be used with the intent of preventing complications and promoting better adaptation of the patient to the desease and in this context it is important to note the work of the nurse. Constitutes the objective of this work, to identify the perceptions diabetic patient's about the disease, as well as the treatment. The field study with qualitative-exploratory approach was accomplished at the Clinic of Endoncrinology of a teaching Hospital. The diabetic patients who participated of the study were at the Clinic in the moment of the collection of the date, which a form was aplied after their authorization. The majority of tht participants showed insuficient knowledge about diabetes. Some mentioned the lack adaptation of to the disease, due to the difficulty in change their habits of life. It became evident the necessary concerning his own care and the lack of the knowledge about the complicatons that the diabetes can cause. Clear that is necessary the implement of services of Consultation os Nursing, since it is a great opportunity to be orientations and accompaniment already mentioned.
