The process of hospital accreditation in Brazil and management skills of nurses

Objective: to present the evolution of hospital accreditation process in Brazil and identify the managerial competencies of the nurse. Methodology: a systematic review conducted from March to June 2009 data collection which took place in the electronic databases Medline and Lilacs in the last six years. It was found 60 articles and selected 20, using as criteria describe the process of hospital accreditation and management skills of nurses Results: we analyzed 20 articles and found that the predominant use of the methodology ONA, only one article did not specify the actions nursing staff using health professionals. About the management practices of nurses, we identified the need to develop skills seeking link between organizational objectives and the need of the team, breaking paradigms and performing a management that achieves the improvement of care, with attitude, skills and knowledge. Determining the answer quickly to organizational changes, the appropriation of new knowledge, skills and technologies available to support an organized and also develop leadership skills and communication. Conclusion: the nurse needs to develop skills backed by solid knowledge base. The skills and abilities in the accreditation process enables access to the determinants of quality of care basing their professional.
