Palliative care in primary care: scientific production of nursing

Objective: to investigate the scientific production in palliative care in Primary Care, in nursing, in the period from 2005 to 2010. Method: this is a documental research done in the database of the Portal of the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Educational PersonnelPCIHEP, of the Federal University of Rio de JaneiroFURJ, of the Digital Library of dissertations and theses of the University of São Paulo-USP, and in the Virtual Library in Health-VLH. The sample consisted of ten publications. To achieve the proposed objectives, was chosen the technique of analysis of thematic content, following the steps of pre-analysis, of classification and the categorization, with the respective subcategories, analysis and interpretation of data. Results: From the analysis of data emerged two approaches: the palliative care in Primary Careview of the health team of the family and of the students; and feelings of patients, caregivers and family members. Conclusion: It is highlighted the need to conduct studies that provides discussions on this theme, as well as the inclusion of such content in the curricula of health professionals, particularly in the area of nursing, and the dissemination of these special care in Primary Care of Health.
