How to manage new business development projects is investigated in this thesis. How managers can simultaneously encourage exploration of new resources through innovation and creativity and exploitation of current resources by coordinating resources with organisational strategies is examined. The findings provide managerial guidance on how to best achieve this by combining formal control via the budget and centralisation with equipping the new business development project with autonomy and experienced project managers
