RESUMO – Hidróxidos Duplos Lamelares baseados em Mg e Al foram sintetizados em diferentes condições de pH pelo método de coprecipitação. As amostras foram usadas na remoção do Cr (VI) a partir de uma solução aquosa. Os pH’s usados na síntese foram: 7, 9 e 11. Encontrou-se que amostras preparadas em pH’s menores que 11 formam interlamelas aniônicas com maior teor de OH em decorrência do ânion CO3. Isto torna a interlamela menos estável e favorece a capacidade de troca iônica do HDL na remoção do Cr (VI).
