Lichen planus is a common, usually intensely pruritic, symmetrical, papulosquamous dermatosis. Direct immunofluorescence studies in patients with lichen planus shows deposition of multiple immunoglobulins and fibrin at the dermoepidermal junction and in the colloid bodies.
