Concluimos observando la incorporacion de la educacion especial y la ortofonia a la esfera educativa del Estado provincial a principios de los anos cuarenta EnglishThe article focuses on the medical and educational initiatives promoted by the Italian psychiatrist Lanfranco Ciampi to treat the “abnormal” or deficient children in the city of Rosario, Argentina, during the interwar period. It intends to analyse the circulation of Sante de Sanctis’ proposal and the social and material derives of these ideas on child abnormality in this city, due to the constitution of a teaching, health care and clinical dispositive when the local university was created. Through a qualitative analysis of institutional sources, this paper will try to show the imbrication between knowledges and practices, especially considering –beyond theoretical productions- the institutions and actors involved that allowed them to become possible. We conclude noting the incorporation of special education and speech therapy on the educational sphere of the provincial state in the early forties.
