In contexts of social exclusion, child-parent attachment relationships can be a potential bridge for the transmission of trauma. On the other hand, when these relationships are secure, they may promote resilience. Therefore, attachment-centered, preventive interventions constitute a fundamental tool of child protection. Primera Alianza is a brief, group intervention program for caregivers of preschool children (1-6 years old), in the context of social exclusion. The aim of Primera Alianza is twofold: to enhance parental sensitivity, on the one hand, and to enhance parental reflective function, on the other. The program makes use of innovative methodology, based on video-feedback and therapeutic use of the group. Core principles and tools of the program are described, as well as some of its preliminary results.
