This paper presents a theoretical and critical point of view about the alarming increase in the diagnosis of ADHD, which is causing an important controversy in recent decades in the Western world, as well as the reductionist view imposed by the biologicalmedical-centric brain model, taking into consideration the etiological, psychopatological and treatment perspectives. A clinical case will then be presented, in order to illustrate by means of practical example the different weak points in the three identified areas.
