These methods also required timeconsuming complicated procedures to prepare the sample.Therefore, there is a need to develop a direct on-line methodfor rapid and simple identification of amygdalin epimers insmall sample volumes. Coupling micellar electrokineticchromatography (MEKC) with mass spectrometry (MS)may solve the problem with respect to identification of theunknown epimer compounds. MS provides important infor-mation not only about the mass, but also about the structureof the separated compounds.
