With the increased pract ice of r otary endodon t ics in r ecen t year s, separated rotary n ickel t i tan ium (NiTi) fi les in root canals is the most commonly repor ted mishap, causing lot o f st r ess and anxiety among cl in icians and patien ts. No clear guidel ines can be drawn from the l i terature avai lable because there are ei ther too few studies of the effects of broken fi les on prognosis, or the few studi es that have been per formed involved so few pat ien ts. The prognosis is a lso dependen t on fi le locat ion , pr ior condi t ion of the pulp, presence or absence o f per iapical lesion and many other factor s. Each case is di fferen t .
