In 2015, the leaves of broadleaf liriope, Liriope muscari, showing anthracnose symptoms were found in a field of Korea. The fungus was isolated and identified as Colletotrichum liriopes based on the morphological characteristics and nucleotide sequence data of the glyceraldehyde3-phosphate dehydrogenase, internal transcribed spacer and actin genes. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of C. liriopes isolated from L. muscari in Korea.
