Little is known about the prescribing behaviour of physicians in hospitals. This analysis, using data based on Computerised Physician Order Entry (CPOE), was performed to evaluate prescription patterns, to analyse possible over-prescribing of drugs and to assess the compliance with therapy-guidelines.
