Aim: The aim of the present study was to evaluate changes in distal femoral cartilage thickness in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) using ultrasonography. Material and Method: The study enrolled 40 RA patients and 40 age-matched healthy controls. The distal femoral cartilage thickness of the participants was measured by means of ultrasonography. The chair stand test and 10-meter walk test were performed for all participants in order to assess mobility. The Health Assessment Questionnaire was used for evaluation of quality of life and DAS-28 scores for evaluation of the disease activity.
