Aim: Breast cancer is a serious disease affecting not only the patient but also the family. Thus, healthy family functioning is essential during the psychological adjustment process of the cancer. This study aimed to determine the family functioning and the relation with depression in non-metastatic breast cancer patients. Material and Method: A total of 45 patients with Grade 2 or 3 non-metastatic breast cancer patients whom were diagnosed at least for 6 months were included in the study. A sociodeographic data form, Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Family Assesment Device (FAD) to evaluate family functioning were applied to all patients. Statistical analysis of the data was performed using SPSS for windows version 15.0, continuous and categorical variables were presented as descriptive statistics.
