Nitric oxide is an important signaling molecule involved in many physiological processes. This paper expounds the source and biological features of nitric oxide as well as the cognizance of the role of nitric oxide in biotic and abiotic stresses. Finally, the prospect of development in this field is presented. Key words: Abiotic stress, biotic stress, nitric oxide, oxidative damage.
