Neonatal Outcomes of Immigrant and Turkish Preterm Infants Treated in a Level-3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: A Retrospective Study

In parallel with low socioeconomic status, unhealthy living conditions and an increased birth rate among these immigrants, health issues are also increasing. There have been many studies that investigated the perinatal status of the global immigrant population, and their findings revealed that having an immigrant status is related to insufficient antenatal care, perinatal mortality, prematurity, low birth weight (BW) and congenital anomalies (1-4). In addition to individual/patientassociated factors in host and immigrant populations, inequality and variability in healthcare access are factors that contribute to the poor perinatal outcomes of the immigrant population.
