Volet forestier de la loi d’avenir pour l’agriculture, l’alimentation et la forêt (loi n° 2014-1170 du 13 octobre 2014)

The enactment of bill on the future of agriculture, food and forests, which includes a whole section on the forestry and forest-based industry, on October 14, 2014, raises the question of the significance of this law for the industry. Will it have as much impact as the basic law on forestry of 2001? This articles attempts to answer this question looking at the six main topics covered: forestry policy and governance, industry funding, forests and territories, sustainable forest management, illegal logging control, the forestry and forest-based industry and the inter-trade organisations, together with the detailed description of the various measures adopted.
