Recent, major fires and the global warming forecasts have raised questions in new areas as to how to manage these phenomena. The first step consists in establishing a diagnosis on the scale of the entire area. A prerequisite for acceptance of the management measures that local players (elected representatives, technical personnel, state representatives) must gain awareness of the element of uncertainty and the actual risks through a shared diagnosis. This article describes a method for analysing the risk of forest fires on the scale of the Pilat Natural Park in the Loire departement. It also provides details as to the concertation procedures used in this approach. The article’s goal is for the method to be transposed to other areas facing a similar situation.
