The object here is to prove that the series )fl,(x)fln(y) is analytic if the sequence (A,,),EJv is such that there exist constants p > 2 and C > 0 with I)I < for all n E .l,V. This is important in the study of eigenvalues of integral operators in relation to their kernels and is a partial affirmative response to a question raised by A.L. Brown.
