Ulrich Krause received his doctoral degree in mathematics from the University of Erlangen-Nurnberg in 1967 and a doctoral degree in economics from the University of Hannover in 1979. His interests include the theory of dynamical systems and commutative algebra as well as the economics of production and social welfare theory. Until 2006 he held the position of a professor of mathematics at the University of Bremen.
