He underwent a screening flexible sigmoidoscopy as per the unit protocol before treatment of the haemorrhoids. Flexible sigmoidoscopy revealed multiple polypoidal lesions situated at the splenic flexure region. Subsequently, he underwent a colonoscopy which revealed multiple polypoidal lesions (>50) ranging from 5mm to 20mm (figure 1) located very close proximity to each other from mid transverse colon up to the proximal descending colon. Rest of the colon up to caecum was unremarkable. Further endoscopic examination of the polyps with Blue Light Endoscopy (BLI) was in favour of benign polyps. Multiple biopsies were taken and one of the larger polyps were taken for histology by snare polypectomy. Histology reports from endoscopic samples revealed a benign tubular adenoma with low-grade dysplasia. Computed Tomography was not done due to a long waiting list.
