Neste artigo pretende-se analisar a tarefa do sacerdote ascetico na terceira dissertacao da Genealogia da moral a partir da teoria das forcas e da traducao dos conceitos morais na linguagem das forcas. Atraves de um percurso ao longo do pensamento de Nietzsche, de 1881 a 1888, ressaltar-se-ao alguns dos elementos essenciais a partir dos quais Nietzsche escreve a terceira dissertacao e interpreta a figura do sacerdote ascetico.
