The article discusses the concept of human rights from the perspective of discursive ideological infl uence and its results in the material context in which we operate, particularly in Brazil. Its specifi c objective is to investigate the discourse on human rights protection as a strategy linked to the legitimation of political and legal activities by developed countries designed to strengthen relations of dependence through the imposition of certain behaviors. In other words, we aim to examine that discourse on from the point of view of those to whom it is directed.
