In order to supply most of the global en- ergy demand, in which oil is still the main source of energy, oil production must be effi cient, since the discovery of new reservoirs today is a diffi cult task. One option that has been proven effi cient is the EOR method, which can improve oil recovery. The aim of this paper is to study and analyze the CO 2 fl ood using the Eclipse simulation software. Proj- ects to study this method are leading the ranking of EOR projects in the USA. They indicate bett er desti- nation to CO 2 , a greenhouse gas that greatly aff ects global temperature. In Brazil, this technique gained notoriety due to high CO 2 concentration in the oil from the pre-salt layer. The results of the simulation showed an increase in oil production compared to water fl ood. Hence, the study of this method is fas- cinating and carrying it out can bring great results for the oil industry and the future of Earth as well.
