Centro de Memória da Educação do Sul de Santa Catarina (CEMESSC) e os estudos sobre a cultura escolar

This article discusses the process of implementation of the Center for the Memory of Education in Southern Santa Catarina (CEMESSC), a project carried out by the Research Group on Education History and Memory (GRUPEHME). Aiming to create a culture dedicated to preserving the memory of educational institutions among school communities and to stimulate academic research in the fi eld of history of education, members of GRUPEHME decided to create it in digital media. Initially, the article describes the motivations for the implementation of the center, then it presents some refl ections on the contribution of digital media and research in the fi eld of history of education, subsequently it deals with the center’s implementation process, and fi nally the CEMESSC is discussed as a locus of research.
