This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP). Since its establishment in 1996 as an international nongovernmental organization, APCTP has grown in scope and influence, especially after its relocation in 2001 to Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in Korea. During the past several decades, the scientific contributions of researchers in the Asia Pacific region have, in every area of physics, been increasing, and the Asia Pacific region will certainly make even more important contributions to physics in the future.
