In the past, numerous studies have been carried out on cultural experience. None of them, however, has examined cultural experience in a formal learning context in Higher education at university level. The empirical research, which is to be referred to the field of clinical - psychoanalytic orientation -, highlights the characteristics of the learning situation that a student has experienced. The analysis of the obtained results captures the play's processes and what is at stake for the student. This research shows how a positive learning situation presents ambivalence for the student because it combines pleasure and pain, creation and destruction. © De Boeck Superieur.
