We study the class of strict nearly Kenmotsu manifolds and prove that there is no Einstein manifold or locally symmetric or locally φ -symmetric in this class of manifolds. We describe strict nearly Kenmotsu manifolds in low dimensions. Finally, we obtain a relation between the curvature of nearly Kenmotsu manifolds and nearly Kähler manifolds.
