The article analyzes practical training as the basic form of teaching. The main idea is to study the essence and structure of practical training.\udThe authors show the diversity of opinions concerning the essence of practical training and express their own views on it. The article explains the essential features of foreign language practical training, how to prepare and carry it out. The authors also analyze the object of practical training which in their opinion is a verbal activity of a foreign language. This work emphasizes the importance of practical training in developing practical skills. The article is especially useful for teachers when they prepare for practical training
