Intrathyroidal parathyroid adenoma poses a diagnostic challenge when pre-operative localization of the adenoma is desired to guide a minimally invasive parathyroidectomy. Ultrasound-guided fie needle aspiration (UG-FNA) can be used to identify the target tissue. We report a case in which UG-FNA of an intrathyroidal parathyroid adenoma confimed abnormal parathyroid tissue in a 44 year-old patient who underwent previous bilateral neck exploration which failed to correct her hyperparathyroidism.
