It can be said that students around the world complain about the practices teachers apply at their classes claiming they are old-fashioned and do not respond to nowadays’ needs for human development and to be highly skilled in today’s society. This investigation project tends to determine the teachers’ pedagogical practices which motivate the learning desire of students of 8° grade in the public school San Juan de Girón and the private one, Gimnasio Cantillana. Interviews, class observations and surveys were used to find out which methodology technics teachers use and students prefer to acquire meaningful learning. The results showed that students get more interested in activities in which they use their knowledge and creativity to construct meaningful learning. Moreover, teachers’ empathy plays a significant role in student’s attitudes towards learning.
