This study aims to determine the differences in increasing students' critical thinking skills before and after the learning process in economic subjects using the Discovery Learning method and the Problem Solving method. The method used in this study is the experimental research method. This research is located in Patokbesi State High School with the subjects in this study consisting of two classes, namely XI IPS 1 class using Discovery Learning method and XI IPS 2 class using Problem Solving method. Data collection is done by using multiple choice tests, and data processing is done by testing the normality, homogeneity and N-gain with the t-test to test the hypothesis. The results show that there is an increase in students 'critical thinking skills before and after the learning process, and the results of this study indicate that the Discovery Learning Method is more effective than the Problem Solving method in improving students' critical thinking skills on economic subjects.
