El espacio subalterno de Xanenetla y Xonaca: estudios sobre la identidad urbana postcolonial en Puebla, México

The modern thinking and its urban and architectural systems of “ontologic determinism” aimed at creating formally unified habitable contexts, based on geometric systems of spatial organization and on the grouping of similar activities through functional zoning systems. The resulting modern city ignored intentionally other urbanities and subaltern ways of conceptualizing habitable spaces (Bachelard, 1969: 212, 215) because they did not fit to the project of economic and political organization that sustains such cities. What is currently happening at least in the Western world and its metropolis and metropolitan areas, is the creation of an urban text that understands the human life in a quantitative way. In order to privilege formal aesthetics, spectacular technological solutions and mechanical distribution of urban functions along the urban territory, the urban and architectonic text of the modern city excludes subjective, cultural, temporal, corporeal and sensorial dimensions of urban life. RESUMEN El pensamiento moderno y sus sistemas urbano-arquitectonicos de un “determinismo ontologico” tenian como proposito promover contextos habitables de formas unificadas, basados en sistemas geometricos de organizacion de espacios y agrupacion de funciones similares a traves de sistemas de zonificacion de funciones. La resultante ciudad moderna ignoro intencionalmente otras urbanidades y maneras subalternas de concebir espacios habitables (Bachelard, 1969: 212, 215) por contrariar el proyecto de organizacion economica y politica que la ha sustentado. Lo que hoy en dia estamos viviendo en la mayoria de las metropolis y zonas conurbadas, por lo menos del mundo occidental, son ciudades texto que entiende la vida humana de manera cuantitativa. Privilegiando la estetica formal, la espectacularidad tecnologica, y la distribucion mecanica de las funciones urbanas a lo largo del territorio, el texto urbano-arquitectonico de la ciudad moderna excluye las dimensiones subjetivas, culturales, temporales, corporeas y sensoriales de la vida urbana con consecuencias adversas para la vida de sus habitantes.
