This paper focuses on the request not to look at breast-fed children attested at the beginning of the cathartic regulation from the sanctuary of Athena Lindia in Rhodes (I.Lindos II 487 = LSS 91). We highlight uniqueness of visual taboos in extant Greek sacred regulations, and suggest that the stipulation from the Lindian sanctuary of Athena may have been influenced by Egyptian purity precepts.
