Ammonia Converter is a catalytic reactor that functions as a reaction site for the formation of NH3 (ammonia) from H2 (hydrogen) and N2 (nitrogen). The productivity and efficiency in the ammonia unit are adjusted from the results of this ammonia converter. Hydrogen and nitrogen gases are obtained from the methanator output, which is expected to have an H2: N2 ratio of 3: 1. Both of these gases are reacted in ammonia converters at high temperatures and pressures. The main problem of this work is the decrease of NH3 production in ammonia converter. The aim of this work are evaluate ammonia converter performance and the factors that influence its performance. From the result, the operating conditions in the ammonia converter will also increase from the amount of ammonia to be produced. This can be seen from the results of the conversion of hydrogen and nitrogen, around 15%. From the evaluation results, obtained from NH3 results decreased from the design data, which amounted to 3498,124 kmol/hour in February 2018.
