Bioethanol is a biofuel which an environmentally friendly alternative fuel which produced by the fermentation process. Physical properties of liquid bioethanol causes bioetanol easily to spill during the distribution. This research converted liquid bioethanol into gel form with addition of thickening agent. Bioethanol solution (70%) will be added CMC and Carbopol thickening agents with variations of addition of 1.0; 1,2; 1.4; 1.6; 1.8; 2.0 grams.Bioethanol gel with thickening agent of CMC and Carbopol produces different specifications.The results of this research indicated that amount of addition thickening agent using CMC produced the best formulation at 1.8 gram with viscosity 75,7288 m.Pa/s and burning residue 5,3%. While the amount of addition Carbopol of thickener produces the best formulation at the addition of 2.0 gram with viscosity 102,443 m.Pa/s and burning residue 0,6%.
