The mathematical modeling is present as a way of learning mathematical objects from educational activities that promote the knowledge construction by the student in an active way, through dialogue and that values and requires the historical student baggage for the knowledge structuring. In addition to this benefit, there are other quieter and less obvious advantages, but very important, to consider this educational action by teachers who, in turn, must be concerned not only with what their students learn, but also with the influences arising on the social formation of these minds. This assay discuss the educational potential of Mathematics as a mediation model by social interactionist theory of Vygotsky and Blum and Leiβ’s mathematical modeling cycle for social modeling minds.
