Microquimerismos en la enfermedad de Alzheimer y la demencia frontotemporal

Neurodegenerative diseases represent a major and increasing public health problem around the world. In the search for therapeutic alternatives against these conditions, feto-maternal microchimerisms (immature fetal cells acquired during pregnancy) appear as a possible therapeutic option similar to stem cell therapy. In fact, several studies have found that the microchimerisms play a protective role against Alzheimer ́s disease and multiple sclerosis.
