The challenges in the scope of the quality of services provided in the Unified Health System, it was necessary to rethink the qualification of health professionals working at the primary health care level. The objective of this study was to relate experiences from planning to execution of the activities carried out by resident nutritionists of the Multiprofessional Residency Program in Family Health during their training process. The field of action of these residents was in regions of social vulnerability of a municipality in the south of Minas Gerais. The actions developed were based on the use of active methodologies. The residents acted in the management of the work process and continued training of the health teams; developed studies of a technical-scientific nature, according to the priorities of the attached area of health care; operated interdisciplinarily as educators and a member of the health team, within ethical and humanistic principles, always aiming to contribute to the optimization of the resolution of health services. It was observed that such experiences experienced in basic day-to-day care enabled the sharing of knowledge, contributing to an integrated and humanized training of nutricionistas.ist residentes.
